Following the announcement of IWDIG Photo Walks R Us in August 2011, and our subsequent successful Isle of Wight Worldwide Photo Walk, we are pleased to announce a Mystery Photo Walk will take place on Saturday 22nd October 2011.

News Update: The photowalk – we will be starting from Newport Quay and there will be more emphasis on photographic techniques etc.,.  We will be finishing for teas/coffees in the Quay Arts and take a look around their galleries.

As mentioned earlier… This exciting outdoor pursuit or ‘amiable amble’ is suitable for Mobile Phone, Compact, Bridge and DSLR users and not limited to Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group members, anyone with an interest in photography is cordially invited to join us too!.

Taking place during the Isle of Wight Walking Festival Autumn Weekend this Mystery Photo Walk will embrace the elements of not only the weather but photographically.  The area will remain as the title suggests a ‘Mystery’ until a few days before, but the activity is open for anyone who wants to get a little more out of  their photography.

The IWDIG is not trying to re invent the wheel, but the idea of unique yet specific ‘photo walks’ on the  Island for anyone to participate in is really quite exciting.  In an open themed photo walk, we do not have to focus on chocolate box, landscapes, wildlife, flora or  fauna, but can shoot to a mystery brief courtesy of Photo Walk Leader Gary Early.

Photo Walk naturally implies photographers, who no doubt will be packing equipment. Our aim  to be inclusive, we will endeavour to ensure less able bodied access is factored into any photo walk we organise.

The idea behind these Photo Walks is for you to improve individual camera skills and develop any gaps in your knowledge. Not only getting the best from your photography, but hopefully improve fitness levels and your photographic skills generally.

If you fancy a challenge and would like to take part please use the contact form at the top of the website.

This regular photographic activity is not competition based, but you can submit images for viewing and critique within specific Flickr Isle of Wight Photo Walks and Isle of Wight Photo Walks Facebook Page, please ensure you display a copyright symbol and your name on any images before submission.
